Terms and Conditions
(a) All electrical installation work will comply with BS7671:2008(2015) and any amendments in force at the time of the works.
(b) All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.
(c) Electrical Installation and Minor Works certificates and Building Regulations notifications issued by Bokke Electrical cover only those works installed by Bokke Electrical .
(d) Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume existing circuits are safe and in adequate condition. Any works required to bring these circuits up to standard will be at additional cost.
(e) No addition or alteration will be carried out to rubber insulated (VRI) or lead sheathed cables
(f) Where carpet or floor coverings require lifting, best endeavours will be made to avoid damage and to refit to an acceptable standard. However, employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, to effect a fully satisfactory reinstatement.
(g) Unless agreed beforehand, chases to walls, etc will be left un-filled. Final finishing of skim coat plaster and final decoration is excluded.
(h) Bokke Electrical will endeavour to undertake installation work to a clean standard. However, some additional vacuuming and cleaning down of surfaces should be expected afterwards. Any equipment susceptible to damage from dust (eg video or computer equipment) must be removed from the work area prior to Bokke Electrical arrival.
(i) In the event the works are not competed on time due to unforeseen circumstances, and or delays by other trades or by the work not being able to continue as we await other work to be carried out by 3rd party trades, Payment may be requested for the works carried out up to the date in question, and any additional time + materials required will be at an additional cost.
(j) Bokke Electrical carries out emergency work and at some points during the work, may be late or leave unexpectedly to carry out this emergency work. This will not affect the overall work on your project/job, and you will not be charged any extra should the job overrun due to these call outs.
2.New Consumer Units:
(a) Installation of new consumer units (fuse board) is subject to the whole installation being tested to ensure it is safe to be connected to a new consumer unit. This is a legal requirement under Part P Building Regulations. The basic cost for this is included in the installation cost.
(b) Any faults found during the above testing which are deemed unsafe, must be rectified prior to that circuit being reconnected to any new consumer unit. Any costs for such work are not included, and will be charged on and above the original quotation given. Such issues will be brought to the clients attention as soon as is practical during works.
(c) In particular, it may be necessary to install new main services bonding to water, gas or oil supplies. This is especially common on properties built during or prior to the early 1970s and again these are at additional cost unless agreed otherwise beforehand.
(a) Whilst we try to be as helpful as possible and will generally do some limited moving to create access. The clearing and / or moving of furniture and other items like old kitchen units blocking access to work areas are not included within the quote.
(b) Whilst Bokke Electrical will try and ensure that electrical items are plugged back in and in working order before we leave the premises, we will not be held responsible for any losses due to any electrical item not being plugged back in and / or switched on.
(c) Removal from site and disposal of rubble, materials, general waste and packaging is not included. Bokke Electrical may, at their discretion, remove old fittings and wiring for responsible disposal.
(a) Estimated costs assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with the client.
(b) Unless stated otherwise, the costs quoted assume standard working hours between 08:00hrs – 17:00hrs Monday to Friday inclusive with 1 Hour lunch or Half day slots of 4 hours. Work required by the client outside these hours may attract premium rates although we will try and be flexible.
(c) Estimates will be either quoted for in one of 3 methods, for the whole job, Per Day or Per hour. The hour will be charged for if 15 min or more work has been carried out in the hour
(d) Additional work not covered in stated costs will attract an additional charge plus materials.
(e) Estimates are valid for 10 days from the date of the estimate. We can not forecast price increases in materials from date of estimate until acceptance of the work or even commencement of the works. Any increases in material costs from time of estimate to the time of purchase will be passed onto the customer.
(f) If individual estimates are combined for discount, and work (one or more of the estimates) gets cancelled or postponed or adjusted, the full value of the amended / cancelled estimate cannot be removed from the accepted estimate in its entirety & the discount applied will fall away & the balance of the items / estimates will be charged as individual estimates / pricing.
(g) Upon accepting the estimate/quotation you are accepting the terms and conditions.
(h) When items are ordered but need to be returned and removed from the job due to design changes by the client or 3rd party out of our control, Then a restocking fee of 20% applies + and return postage should the items be ordered and have to be returned to the supplier. Made to measure items are not returnable.
(i) Due to the current climate, prices are constantly changing for materials, any changes in material costs before and during said works are completed will be passed onto the client.
5.Risk and Title of Goods:
(a) The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the Client upon delivery.
(b) All goods supplied shall remain the property of Bokke Electrical until all sums due have been paid in full.
(a) Bokke Electrical warrants its installation work to be defect free for a period of twelve months from the completion date. Cover does not extend to goods supplied by others, physical damage, wilful misuse or instances where the installation has been altered or tampered with by third parties. The warranty also excludes fair wear and tear, lamps, fuses or other consumables.
(b) Where projects involve works by third party trades, any damage to the electrical installation by third parties shall remain the responsibility of the Client. Any rectification costs must be paid by the Client prior to commencement of second fix. Recovery of such costs from any third party shall be the Clients responsibility.
(c) Security alarms and CCTV equipment will be fitted with tamper seals. All warranty is void if this is broken. Request of engineer code will also void any warranty
(a) Unless agreed in writing, payment in full should be made on completion of the specified works, to Bokke Electrical
(b) Larger projects may require a non-refundable deposit before work, as stated in estimate (if applicable)
(c) Where projects involve separate first and second fix works or changes in the way the work needed to be carried out, part payment may be due on completion of first fix, or when these project points are reached. Example of these is if an estimate is done for a vacant house rewire with unlimited access, once work has started or scheduled in, the project changes to limited access, or non-vacant rewire. Or we are unable to carry out the full rewire due to design changes. (see quote for more details)
(d) Payment is accepted by cash, bank transfer, or debit / credit card
(e) In the event of any non-payment Bokke Electrical reserve the right to withhold any certificates for work carried out until such payments are made and may seek an independent debt recovery agent to assist if necessary.
(f) Please note any NON electronic form of payment will incur an additional cost. Due to banks charging for cash or cheque deposits we will need to pass these costs on.
(g) Late payment fees are calculated as follows, (Daily interest is calculated at 8% above bank of England’s base rate + £40 Admin fee)
8.Electrical Safety Checks:
(a) The engineer must have full access to the board; any obstructions must be removed prior to the test.
(b) Board location must be provided to the office prior to the test to ascertain whether the engineer needs ladders.
(c) PAYG meters must have enough credit in order for the engineer to conduct the test.
(d) Any damaged fixed fittings must be identified prior to the test; broken light switches, cracked sockets etc.
(e) All sensitive equipment must be unplugged prior to the test.
(f) It is imperative for the Fuse board to be marked up; all relevant circuits must be identified correctly in order for the engineer to carry out the inspection.
(g) If at any point the engineer believes the installation to be in an unsafe condition the test will be stopped and recommendations will be made to the customer for improvements which may be needed.
(h) Prices are based on no more than a 10 way board and no submains. Large boards and submains will incur additional costs of £25 per additional 2 circuits and £50 per submain with no more than 4 circuits on the sub main board.
(i) Issuing of a new E.I.C.R, after remedial works has been carried out will incur an admin charge of £30
(j) During the tests the limitations we apply are
(j)(1) No lifting of floor boards, No disturbing the fabric of the building, No removing of light fittings, No lifting carpets, No removal of appliances furniture.
